OPERA HIGHLIGHT PARIS 2005
From October 11 to October 16 2005

Firstly, there will be the dazzling adventure from October 11 to October 16 that has been especially created to provide a journey through the major Opera Houses. We will be starting with the "Opéra Royal de Versailles", tailor-made for discovering with Sir William Christie, that fantastic connoisseur of baroque music, the Opera and Ballet "Europe Galante".
Next there will be two key works by Mozart featuring a superb cast - The Marriage of Figaro at the "Théâtre des Champs-Élysées", and "Cosi fan Tutte" at the "Palais Garnier", conducted by Daniel Harding with stage-play by Patrice Chéreau. At the Bastille Opera, the admirable Cardillac by Hinemith, conducted by Kent Nagano and "La Bohème" by Puccini, which will be providing a perfect balance between modernity and more traditional music. Finally, as an epilogue - a cruise along the Seine will be providing us with the opportunity of having a brunch with the "Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra National de Paris" (Paris National Opera Workshop) that trains young artists to attain excellence.

Tuesday October 11

At the "Opéra Royal de Versailles": L'Europe Galante, by A. Campra

Choreography: M.G. Massé

The "Overture" will take place at the "Opéra Royal de Versailles" (Royal Opera of Versailles) and will be featuring a beautiful performance of the emblematic Opera and Ballet, "L'Europe Galante" by A. Campra conducted by Sir William Christie.
Of course, prior to the performance there will be an enchanting private visit to the Royal apartments and afterwards a dinner and cocktail in the Palace.

On request: visit of the "Grand Trianon" and the "Petit Trianon" during the afternoon.

Wednesday October 12


Théâtre des
Champs-Elysées

At the "Théâtre des Champs-Élysées" - The Marriage of Figaro, by W.A. Mozart

- with R. Rosen, P. Ciofi, A. Concetti and G. Bacquier

The "first act" will be performed at the "Theatre des Champs Elysées" with the revival of Jean Louis Martinotty's production, The Marriage of Figaro, which last year was nominated as the finest Parisian opera performance.
The cast will be featuring Patricia Ciofi, Andrea Concetti and Gabriel Bacquier. A champagne cocktail will be served during the interlude.

Optional: dinner at the gourmet restaurant "La Maison Blanche" located on the top floor of the theatre, or in any other restaurant of your choice.

"Second Act" - Patrice Chereaux's very much awaited new production of "Cosi fan Tutte" at the "Palais Garnier." An exceptional and private dinner will be served following the performances in the newly restored Grand Foyer of the Opera House.

Opéra Bastille

At the "Opéra Bastille", 20.00 : Cardillac, by P. Hindemith

- Stage-play by A. Engel
- with A. Held, A. Denoke, C. Ventris, C. Workman and R. Bracht

The "Third Act" is held at the Opera de la Bastille with another new production of Cardillac of P. Hindemith produced by Andé Engel and conducted by Kent Nagano.
As the subject of the opera is taken place within the jewellers of the Vendôme square in Paris, Mr. Gérard Mortier, General administrator of the Paris National Opera will personally present this production during a welcome cocktail at the famous Hôtel Ritz, before the performance.

Saturday October 15


Opéra Bastille

Sunday October 16

Once again we will be going on an Operatic "Sunday brunch cruise" on the Seine on board the magnificent Cruiser that belongs to "Yatch de Paris." On this occasion the talented artists of this vintage of this year's artists from the "Opéra studio de la Bastille" (Opera National de Paris) will be presented during a private performance.
